Welcome to Islewood Farm, a small stable on beautiful Deer Isle in Maine offering judging services, clinics, and a limited schedule of quality hunt-seat riding instruction. The owner and instructor, Meg Black, a lifelong horsewoman, USHJA certified trainer, and USEF "R" licensed Hunter and Jumper judge, has been instructing riders for over 40 years. Meg began her career by teaching at Oldfields School, assisting the director at Garrison Forest School and finally directing the program at Linden Hall School before relocating to Maine and starting her own business over 20 years ago. In addition to teaching, riding, and maintaining a busy schedule judging USEF shows across the country, Meg recently took on the job as US booking agent for Killarney Riding Stable's long distance treks in County Kerry, Ireland. All of this experience contributes to a well rounded program.
